Byron Olson is a Providence, Rhode Island based cartoonist. Born in Providence, Byron draws inspiration from the city, culture and community. He studied at MassArt initially, then transferred to RISD, where he received his BFA in Illustration. He works as a freelance artist and runs his web shop: Strange One Comics, selling art prints and other products. Byron’s artwork is at the intersection of spooky and cutesy, with influences ranging from Stephen King novels, to Fleischer cartoons like Betty Boop. His work evokes a vintage feel with modern sensibilities. Underground and independent comics, punk rock, hip-hop, counter culture and the diy print scene, fuel his passion to create.

Byron's art experience includes: illustration, comics, graphic design, logo design, sign-painting/murals, teaching/workshops/lectures.
